Marisa Torrieri Bloom
Rockmommy is a music publication inspired by motherhood and created by a real-life rockstar mom and journalist, Marisa Torrieri Bloom. It was founded in 2012, after Marisa had her first son, and it celebrates parenting from a rock and roll perspective.
It is a publication for performers with kids who are looking for inspiration and some hard-won time for their own creativity. It is also a music publication for artists, creators and fans, full stop. Rockmommy runs interviews, gear reviews, personal essays, nostalgic writing, video tutorials and more.
What we are here to do
Rockmommy exists to get musician parents to pick their instruments back up, start bands, jam with their kids and try new gear, one article at a time. We know how real the ups and downs of parenthood are, and we know the pull to crank the amp and rock out is just as real.
