Gibson Unveils New Signature Johnny Cash and Rosanne Cash Guitars – and I’m Obsessed
Add this to the list of gorgeous, rare, and swoonworthy instruments: Gibson Custom has released two custom acoustics in honor of one of the greatest father-daughter musician duos of all time: Johnny Cash and Roseanne Cash.
The Johnny Cash SJ-200 from Gibson Custom recreates his beloved and exceptionally rare signature model from the late 1950s with its striking Vintage Cherry Sunburst finish, according to Gibson. For this limited run, only 100 of these instruments were handmade by the expert luthiers at Gibson Custom in Bozeman, Montana. Link to purchase — for $14K (!).
Rosanne Cash, one of the country’s pre-eminent singer-songwriters in her own right, inspired a versatile signature model of her own.
The new Gibson Custom Shop Rosanne Cash J-185, a companion guitar to her dad’s, was made in close collaboration with the legendary Rosanne Cash. It features a flame maple body that is slightly thinner for superior playing comfort, a thermally aged Sitka spruce top, and a SlimTaper™ 24.75” mahogany neck with a rosewood fretboard. Gibson Custom Rosanne Cash J-185 arrives in a stunning Heritage Cherry Sunburst finish. For this very special limited edition run, only 100 of these beautiful instruments will be handmade by the expert luthiers and craftspeople of Gibson Custom in Bozeman, Montana.
